BenedettoRobinson- Italian Soldier Write an article discussing why your nation isinvolved in World War I.Benedetto's thoughts - As a soldier fighting in World War One, I see and hear many things. My country is very important to me. I live in thenorthern part of Italy, so Ilive in an industrialized nation. The southern part of Italy isn't as fast as us and is still not industrialized. Italy is involved in this war. We as a country, did not get that into the war untilwe saw progress. We are part of the Triple Alliance with Germany and Austria-Hungary. We have a constitutional monarchy, we are industrialized, we have a good military and we have different ethnic groups. My reaction to the assassination ofArchduke Franz Ferdinandof Austria-Hungary. Benedetto's thoughts - The assassination was a shock. I remember being in high school hearing what had happened. I had always head of the Black Hands, but reallyknowing they did suck a thing discussed me. Killing one person in a heartless crime, but killing an Archduke, his wife, and their unborn baby is just an act of hate. The assassination is what convinced me to get into the war.
Weapons&Tactics. Benedetto's thoughts - The weapons in this war, well their were many. I liked using grenades. They are easy to carry and can get the people that are hiding in the trenches. I have always used guns before the war but the grenades worked better for me. Guns, grenades, planes, artillery, cannons, battleships, and submarines are what I have used, so far in this war, but like I said, grenades would have to be my favorite.
Propaganda Poster - This propaganda poster is from the country Italy.It has a lot of meaning. I think the posters shows much heart.They need more troops fighting for them.An injured solider lays helpless onthe ground,while his partner try's to fight off three other soldiers wanting to kill them all.Now, if they had more troops, then they would not have to die, is what this poster is trying to get across.This poster's objectives are:recruiting soldiers,and showing what is happening in the war.The techniques used in this poster are;demonization,emotional appeals,and emotional symbols. Benedetto's thought's -Walking down the street, you will see tons of these.They are everywhere.In the street,on buildings,in windows,or even on cars.Everywhere and anywhere you could think of.Actuality,they can really be a bit annoying.I just tend to ignore them.I have even helped make a few,but this is outrageous.I mean, really,wedon't need this many reminding us all the time of the killings we see everyday.They sometimes even make me emotional.I have see one to many.I am not a fan of propaganda posters.If it were up to me, they woulden't be aloud up.I think they are a waste of paper. Russia's exit and theUSA'sentry into the war. Benedetto's thoughts - Russia was very weak at the start of the war, but later they were getting stronger and stronger by the minute. I really thought they would last, but to my surprise, they didn't. They dropped out. To this, the USA entered. We have not yet saw what the USA can do, but I have a feeling they will be strong, like no other.
Christmas At War. Benedetto'sthoughts- Christmas was a different experiance in the War. People from other nations got together and traded chocolate and other candies and foods. I remember being down in the treches on Christmas and everything stoping. No gun shots or anything. I remember seeing games being played like soccer. We all needed a break, and that was what we got.
The Treaty ofVersailles. Benedetto's thoughts- This was a bitter sweet thing for us. After we switched sides becasue of the things Germany was doing, we were angry. We did not get all the lands promised to us with our secret treaty with the Allies. Germany is no longer a friend of our contry. The do not regret the chocies we have made and stand by them 100%.
Returning to ourhome. Benedetto's thoughts- I was thrilled when I found out we could retern home. I missed all my brothers and sisters, my mother and father, and my wife. I was amazed to see my home after it had been so long. I am happy to be back. My family greeted me and now I'm home to stay, at least for a wile. I feel proud to have fought for my country and I'm proud to call myself an Italian soldier. This is my unit.My unit is very important to me. They are the strength that keeps me going. I would be nothing without them. We treat each other like family.This is my beautiful wife. My wife. She is my everything. When I'm away, over seas, she is all I think about. I miss her and think about her everyday. This is me & my brother's grave . My brother was in my unit. He was killed when we were down in the trenches. The sickness was what killed him. I miss him. This is my family. My family is a major part in my life. They support me and get worried every time I deploy. This is my home. It's rather big, on a count of my whole family is living their. This was my first horse. His name was Chuck. These were my fist grenades. They sometimes were hard to carry, but they always hit the target. This is my countries flag.
